In an effort to help you determine what space size you need, multiply the number of each article by the cubic foot number. Add total number of cubic feet to get the size unit that will best work for you. Below you will find the charts for both the unit sizes as well as the item size in cubic feet.

Unit Sizes in Cubic Feet

5' x 10' (400 cubic feet): Space for a couch and chair, chest of drawers or a dresser, mattress set, plus small items and boxes, outdoor furniture, lawn mowers, garden tools, bicycles and/or motorcycles, etc.
10' x 10' (800 cubic feet): Space for furniture from a one bedroom apartment, plus small items and boxes without appliances.
10' x 15' (1200 cubic feet): Space for furniture from a one bedroom apartment with appliances plus small items and boxes.
10' x 20' (1600 cubic feet): Space for furniture from a 2 bedroom house with appliances, plus miscellaneous items and cartons or a car or truck plus small items.
10' x 25' (2000 cubic feet): Store furniture from a 3 bedroom house with miscellaneous items and cartons or a car, truck, or boat plus some furniture and small boxes.
